Either change or regret

Either change or regret

"Was it my fault?" is perhaps the most commonly asked question by human kind, when it comes to talking about the damage they have caused to the nature. Not thinking about the future they kept moving forward. Didn't even realize, what such acts would pay in future. But when we did, it was already too late; or maybe not. Though, talking about the past won't change it, but it can surely show us proper way to stop such things from happening in future. Cause we get paid according to what we do. It's a true fact, regardless of wherever you go. That's why it's important to talk about the mistakes that we made in the past and not to repeat it again.

Since the beginning of the civilization, human kind had to depend on other animals for the sake of their survival. Although there's nothing wrong in it. But at certain times, this need was replaced with greed. And being the victim of which many animals got extinct forever from the planet. Let's get to know about some of those:

The Dodo:

Many of us might not be familiar with this name. With large eyes, curved peak and a face very similar to pigeons, this creature used to have a height of 3 feet.
The Dodo was a flightless bird , which were found in Mauritius. After the sailors began arriving on the East African island nations, their population began dwindling and eventually became extinct. Because of being unable of flying they used to get caught very easily. A Popular belief has sailors used to hunt and eat the Dodo till they got extinct. Besides, some other scholars believe that, it’s more likely that the rats (and other animals) the sailors brought with them caused the Dodo’s decline. Perhaps the rats ate Dodo eggs and other animals outcompeted the bird for food sources.
In the 1660s the last of the Dodos were seen .

The Thylacine:

The Thylacine was also referred to as the Tasmanian tiger because of living in Tasmania. Looking similar to a wolf and having a striped skin like a tiger, this creature mostly used to hunt kangaroos and sheep. In Australia, during the last century, many farmers had sheep in their farmhouse. The Thylacines would go to the farms with a view to eating those. To stop this, the then Government of the country had declared 1 dollar prize for hunting each Thylacine.  As a result more than 2000 were hunted down. Gradually their population started decreasing and eventually got extinct. None of them were seen after 1936.

The Quagga:

Named Quagga, this creature was native to South Africa. One of the most unique feature they had was the strips like a Zebra on their neck. But because of this feature they would easily become the target of greedy  businessmen and  were hunted quite often. Gradually they became endangered. Since 1883, after the one in the Amsterdam zoo passed away ,none of them were seen.

The list doesn't end here, there are a lot of other animals who were erased from the planet by us. When the Quaggas got extinct all on a sudden, the educated community became concerned. They realized the mistake they have been repeating for a long time. They found the necessity of making the people understand the same thing and become aware of the damages they had caused. Although it's the bitter truth that we can't change what we have already done, but awareness about the mistakes can help us avoid ourselves from continuing those in future. Today around us there are still a lot of creatures which are endangered . If we don't become aware today and take proper actions to prevent their extinction, they might vanish forever causing an imbalance in the nature . So, the only way left is to regret or change ourselves.
